stay inspired for the whole month of april
Mercury Retrograde Prep Kit: Writing Prompts and Action Items
Hello, Hello Cheerful Writer!
So, I had a bit of a realization yesterday.
I missed my daily writing session, and it threw off my whole day.
I missed an appointment, I misspoke on a call, I couldn’t write an essay in an effective way that was interesting to any reader anywhere…
The list goes on.
It was a very Mercury Retrograde shadow period experience.
Ever had that happen?
The whole day got me thinking about how writing every day is like exercising a muscle. When you miss a day, things just feel off-kilter.
As I reflected on the last 18 posts here, I realized a few things that might resonate with you too:
Writing prompts can really get those creative juices flowing.
To-do lists that align with your astrological needs and your writing goals can be super helpful.
And of course, who doesn't love a good story? You do! You love a story (you’ve told me so in the emails!)
Mercury, the planet of communication, is about to go into retrograde. As a creative, you may find you need a little support with all of the above to get your through the next month.
In preparation for retrograde (starting April 1st, although we're already in the shadow period), I've put together a little something to help you stay on track creatively.
Mercury retrograde can sometimes get a bad rap, but it can be a fantastic time for reflection, revision, and reconnecting with old ideas.
It's a time to slow down, review your progress, and make any necessary adjustments to your plans. With the right mindset and some strategic planning, you can use this retrograde period to your advantage.
who writes the Astrology Substack, Under The Stars We Wander, says this about the upcoming Retrograde:This Mercury in Aries retrograde wants you to remember that there's a champion within you. But if you're playing someone else's game, you're never going to win because it's not your game. If you choose someone else's path, you miss out on all the aspects that make your story unique and special.
Time to get on your path as a creative and start playing your game!
To help, I’ve put together 3 writing prompts and 3 action items to get you started. These will help you prep for the upcoming month and set the tone for your creative work.
After you go through the Prep Kit below, hit reply and let me know: have you felt the effects of retrograde yet? Have things been a little wild these last few days? All replies land straight into my inbox! I read them all.
Happy Writing!

And as
says:Take your time, embrace who you are, and let yourself flourish as we move into the deeper parts of spring. You have so much to offer yourself and the world. Over the next three weeks, allow yourself to feel and accept this truth. You're just where you need to be. Understanding yourself is the key to achieving your dreams when Mercury goes direct. -
